Family Callidulidae: An unusual family of moths known as "Old World Butterfly-moths. Callidulids are a family of butterfly like moths which are distributed throughout southeast Asia and Oceania. Callidulids can exhibit both day and night flying behavior and typically hold their wings over thier backs like butterflies. Thier closest relatives are know truly known but they are thought to be close to hook-tip and geometer moths.

Stripe-Necked Mongoose (Herpestes vitticollis)

is a large species of mongoose native to Southern India and Sri Lanka. This species is the largest of all the Asiatic mongooses with adults growing up to 21 inches long (+16 inches with the tail). The Stripe Necked Mongoose is fairly distinct as it has a two black stripes that runs down its neck giving the animal its name, it also has a short and stout body. This species is diurnal and hunts on the edge of swamps and rice fields for small invertebrates, mammals and birds.
